Decibel Euro Tour

Decibel ensemble is on the road to various destinations including Belgium, Germany and Italy on a three-week tour during January and February.
Decibel will present works by Western Australian composers Lindsay Vickery, Cat Hope, Stuart James and Malcom Riddoch as well as Australian composers Julian Day, Thomas Meadowcroft, Warren Burt and Samuel Dusncombe. In Germany, Decibel will team up with Australian ex-pats Thomas Meadowcroft, Steve Heather, Tony Buck as well as Londoner, Boris Hauf.

2012 Regional Tour - The Reef

Tura New Music announces its 2012 Regional Touring Program - a very special collaboration with the Australian Chamber Orchestra to present The Reef featuring Richard Tognetti, ACO2, Mark Atkins and Steve Pigram. Premiering a new work by Iain Grandage with film created by surf cinematographer Jon Frank and film director Mick Sowry, the tour will travel to Darwin, Kununurra, Broome, Port Hedland, Carnarvon, Geraldton and Perth with a showcase presentation at the Sydney Opera House. The new work will be created during a special creative development residency at Gnaraloo, the start of Ningaloo Reef in the Gascoyne region of WA, in early 2012 delving into the links between surfing, the ocean, landscape, community and music.

The immersive sound work "Peninsula" created by Philip Samartzis out of Tura's 2010 Remote Residency Program, is featured as part of IASKA's inaugural Biennale, Spaced: Art Out of Place, at the Fremantle Arts Centre as part of the 2012 Perth Festival.

Soft Soft Loud: The Americas features numerous Australian premieres in a program of deeply personal reflections on loss and life, from Steve Reich’s harrowing WTC 9/11 to Andy Akiho’s joyous Hadoiro, Osvaldo Golijov’s beautiful setting of Christian, Arab and Jewish folk song, culminating with Reich’s uplifting and Pulitzer Prize winning Double Sextet.
